The “Living”
Tree Celebration.
“The trees may have died. The responsibility did not.” — Make it right.
Phoenix families paid $500 each for a “living tribute” — a tree, planted in honor of a loved one, to be cared for and maintained as a heritage for the future. The plaques remain. Many of the trees do not. GOOD|GOAT is collecting documentation and asking the City to make it right.

This is not isolated. It is indicative of a pattern.
Living Tree Celebration plaques at North Mountain Park and Papago Park now stand as monuments to the City’s neglect. Some trees never made it past the first dry season. Others have been removed without notice to the families who paid for them. The plaques remain — honoring people whose tributes were quietly let go.
GOOD|GOAT believes this is part of a broader pattern of maintenance failures and disrespect to the families & friends who paid to honor their loved ones. We are collecting documentation now — photos, plaque inscriptions, original receipts — from anyone whose tribute is at stake.
